Breaking Free: My Journey from Switch to Code

Hey there!

I’ve got a little story to share with you, about how I managed to kick my gaming habit to the curb. It’s been a wild ride, let me tell you!

So, for the past few months, I’ve been glued to my Nintendo Switch. It started off as a way to unwind from all the freelancing projects that seemed to be piling up endlessly. But then, even when the projects slowed down, I found myself still gaming. It was like I didn’t even need an excuse anymore.

Getting out of this gaming loop wasn’t a walk in the park. It’s not like you can just flip a switch and suddenly stop. I used all my free time gaming. And my free time is mostly late at night when wife and baby are asleep.

Then came my lightbulb moment - I needed something else to be hooked on, something productive. And you know what I realized? I’ve always had this love for coding. It’s like a puzzle that I can’t resist solving. Once I dive into it, it’s all I can think about.

So, I decided to give it a shot. I went back to coding, and yeah, it’s been a game-changer (pun intended). It’s crazy how something you’re passionate about can pull you out of a rut.

Now, don’t get me wrong, it’s not all smooth sailing. I know that in the next few days, I’ll need to keep an eye on myself. I don’t want to replace one addiction with another, right?

But hey, that’s life, isn’t it? We’re always figuring things out as we go along. So, I’m on the lookout for ways to keep my coding in check. Maybe set some time limits, or find other hobbies to balance it out.

Anyways, I just wanted to share this little victory with you. It’s amazing how finding something you’re truly passionate about can turn things around.

I hope you’ve got something in your life that gives you that same spark. If not, maybe it’s time to go on a little adventure of your own, right?

Catch you later, and remember, you’ve got this!
